Rural Development (RD) Loan Programs | Joplin MO

The U.S. Department of Agriculture offers a variety of programs to help low to moderate-income individuals living in small towns or rural areas achieve homeownership. The Rural Housing Service (RHS) helps qualifying applicants purchase homes as their primary residence.

RHS Rual Development Loans are an attractive option because of:

  • Minimal closing costs
  • No required down payment
  • 30 Year Fixed Rate (only option available)

RHS Rural Development Home loans can be used toward the purchase of a previously owned home or a new construction. Families must be able to pay their monthly mortgage, homeowner’s insurance and property taxes.

Persons interested in Rural Development financing must find a home in a qualifying rural location.  We can locate an address for you to see whether the property lies in a qualifying area. However, in our local market, all of SE Kansas qualifies, as well as the communities of Neosho, Carthage, Monett, Aurora and some areas in Webb City, and Carl Junction.

See the link below to check on your property location eligibility:

Income limitations apply to RD financing. For the Joplin, MO area, an individual borrower up to a family of four should not have annual income exceeding $74,750. A family of five to eight should not exceed annual income of $98,650.
